Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ours broke(and it was VERY old) and I cannot find one at WalMart or Staples. Suggestions for a new one and where I can get it. I need it mostly for preschool stuff but would like it to also work for 4th grade and above.
I am getting excited about our next year

Timberdoodle has an awesome stuffed pillow globe. It has all (most maybe?) of the countries labeled and would be perfect for preschool-4th grade.

I bought some from here: The Map Shop. Their kids' ones are nice and not too much.

We had a couple of threads in the Montessori forum about purchasing globes - several people mentioned sites where to purchase regular globes as well. I can look them up in a little while, if you like. :)

I got one at Target at Christmas last year and I just saw them in the school supply section the other day. When I got mine at the end of last year, it was only like $13, I think.

Ours was expensive but since you have a 4th grader, it might be a great investment. It's called the Oregon Scientific Smart Globe and it plays games, national anthems for all the countries etc. and you can update the Smart Pen with current information. We got it cause we were being given money for homeschooling by an organization and i thought it would a good investment even if my girls were still young, just because you can update the info each year. They learned where a lot of countries were just by listening to anthems and picking out their favorite ones. lol It was about $100, with s/h included. So it is expensive but i bet your 4th grader would have a lot of fun and get a lot out of it.

I just bought an inflatable globe for my kids (5 and under). I thought it would be fun to toss it around; you can have it on the couch or wherever you're reading--it doesn't take up table space (big issue in my small house!) And it is not breakable! (also a big issue here). And cheap! $5! I got mine on Amazon.

Barnes and Noble has a decent globe - $25, I think.

At Target in the dollar spot right now there are small globes for $1. They look nice- don't know how well they will hold up long term, but they are small and good for little hands. I bought two- one to make into a sandpaper globe, and one back-up in case my sand paper globe is a disaster.
