Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know of a website with the Latin translation of common objects around the home? Dh is keen for us to start Latin as a family and he feels that one way we could start is with labels on the furniture. I know I could research but if I could find it already done for me that would be wonderful

There's not a whole lot of furniture here but the most common ones are covered...

Latin Vocabulary

There are also kids' books at Bolchazy-Carducci that you might want to check out (I haven't bought them yet). Some examples: Cat in the Hat in Latin, Giving Tree, Green Eggs and Ham, plus these books from the "I Am Reading Latin series".

hth,

I can't help but I would just add that we have the Bolchazy-Carducci books and love them. They're perfect for just learning Latin. I just wish we could find more like them.
