Hi,
I don't know if there are lesson plans like that. I usually find a text I like for the year and then go to web sites like Bethlehem books (Also this site has a living history book section http://readingyourwaythroughhistory.blogspot.com) and find books that coincide with topics in the text. My DD is going into 4rth grade and loves history!

Maybe try Winterpromise. I've used their phonics program. I'm pretty sure there is at least a thread or two on these boards about their history as well.

We are going to use RC History next year for 2nd and 4th grade. Check them out - it seems great and I am excited to start
If you have any questions about it, I'll try to help
God bless,
Christine

I know you haven't had the program long but I'd love to know what you think of it.

I don't have a lot of typing time right now, so please feel free to ask any questions and I'll get to them as I have time.
What kind of things would you like to know about RC History?
I like the very open lesson plans (we have the plans for the ancients). There are 10 units covered ranging from creation - 63 BC. You can take a day, a week, two weeks, a month, whatever on the plans. They are not day to day schedules or anything. You go at your own pace - lots of time for rabbit trails, etc.
The central focus is salvation history. Secular history is looked at along with salvation history, as knowing the world powers and culture of the times is important for understanding salvation history.
Within the 10 units are background readings for the parent. This background material is sometimes in the lesson plans themselves and also from external sources. I really like Jeff Cavins' Great Bible Adventure - the program suggests the teen version, but I found that I liked this one better. There are then discussion prompts, timeline people and events, vocabulary, essay and research ideas, creative writing ideas, hands-on project ideas, maps and charts, and memory and copywork. I find that this fits well for us, as we can make it work with our book of centuries.
The lesson plans are reasonably priced, in my opinion. But they are just that, plans. There is some background material in them, but you need to get books. The cost comes in to deciding what books to buy, which to borrow, and which to just skip as you can't do it all all the time, KWIM?
Ok, I've gone on enough, I have to get back to my dc before things get crazy over here
I hope this helps,
Christine
