Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I discovered that there is actually a name for not being able to memorize math facts.    I truly didn't know. My son scores very well on his standardized test in every category except math computation (really, really, really low - scary low). I figured that there was some real disability there, but have had a heck of a time trying to figure out where there are resources to help him with it. Then I found this article on-line while digging around. I thought I would post it here in case anyone else would find it useful.

Does anyone know where you can locate someone skilled in dealing with a math disability or places on-line with remediation for a math disability? I actually think we'll eventually be OK if we continue to implement some of the wonderful strategies suggested in this living and loving numbers forum, but it would be reassuring to have someone skilled in this area assess my son.
