I just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone finds it helpful. Someone in a homeschool group I belong to posted a link to this site, XtraMath. It is a free program that is intended to help with memorization of basic math facts.

The child logs in, and it leads them through math problems and the goal is for them to type in the answer quickly. There are videos demonstrating how it works on the site .

We signed up and DS did the first "quiz" to assess where he is. I figure we'll try it out for a bit and see if he likes doing it. He definitely could use some practice on his basic addition facts, so this looks to be a good resource to help him practice.

This site is awesome and so good for "forgetful" kids when it comes to math facts. My son really prefers it over me drilling him with flashcards!
