Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone recommend a math program for 1-3 rd grades that isn't mom intensive (like MUS or Saxon) and has a spiral approach similar to Saxon? The only one recommended so far to me has been Abeka. It looks great but I would rather something that wasn't quite so anti-Catholic. (not that the material in the book is but the whole company)

I've used Australian programmes - bright, colourful and easy to work through.

Would Singapore maths be similar? What about some of those workbooks you can buy at the supermarket or local booksellers?

we use singapore. it has a spiral approach (book 2A covers multiplication and division). I make sure my son understands the exercise and he works independently. I have used earlybird (prek) - 2A (second grade) and do like it. here is a thread comparing MUS and singapore. HTH!
