Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are switching from Saxon to Singapore this year. We will be starting with 2B but probably get through 3B by the end of the year. Does anyone know what, if any, manipulatives are necessary for these levels? Thanks for any info.

We are almost finished with 2B. I don't remember any "required" manipulatives. We have used beans or pennies to help with multiplication and division. We used real money when studying money. I have a small plastic clock that we used during the portion on learning time. This was all stuff we had around.

I have 3A and 3B -- I will glance at them and let you know if there is anything you need.

We just finished 3B (a week ago) and the only things I remember having to "collect" in level 3 were containers of various measurements for that chapter. Only because we wanted to pour and stuff.
I do remember buying a scale earlier, maybe 2B? But I don't think it was required, I wanted to do it.

Anita,
I've used Singapore 2A through 5B and have never been required to need any materials other than rulers, yardstick/meterstick, tape measure, and basins/cups for volume exercises.

It's my impression that Singapore's manipulative requirements are very reasonable and tend towards being things you already have or can easily make.
