Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I did not read this little important side not , why?
Because I was so excited and just ordered the darn thing!!!

Has anyone done TT7 and Pre Algebra? Are they somewhat similar I have looked at PA but I just can't really tell too much.

If anyone has a mac os and does TT7 what do you recommend?
I am just so sick of thinking about what am I going to do

Are you sure? We have a Mac and have used TT for two years now. We did not do Pre-Algebra but Algebra I and Geometry.
I vaguely remember having some kind of trouble at the beginning. I called them and the problem was solved. Have you tried calling them?

I did call them and they were not very helpful. Well maybe they were but I didn't want to hear what they told me which was that TT 5,6, and 7 were not compatible.
My DD has done pre algebra but she struggled a lot so I am not sure if it is wise to keep her there. I thought that maybe if we do 7th grade math she can ease on to PA. She is a 7th grader after all, but her teacher had her doing PA at the end of last year.

I just had her do the PA placement test and she missed a lot of them but then I look at the 7th grade content list and placement test and is simple fr her.
I just don't know what to do now. I don't want to bog her down too much with PA but at the same time TT7 seems too sipmplified for her .

We've finished TT7 and are about half-way through PA. PA seems mostly to be firming up and re-emphasizing concepts; not too much new material. BUT from having taught math to 5 other of my dc, I wouldn't advise skipping PA. Each time we have gotten to this level, I've noted a huge leap in how abstract Algebra I is when compared to everything up to that point. The extra firming, extra practice, and confidence building have been really important for my dc at this age/stage. The ones I tried to just skip ahead into Algebra I wound up *doing* and *re-doing* Algebra I before being settled enough with it to move on to Geometry. And this involved lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth, accompanied with lots of, "This is too hard. I'm not smart enough to do this." The ones I kind of took it more slowly and deliberately with, doing both Math 7 and Pre-Algebra (not all with TT, as it wasn't around at the time for the olders ), as well as for my current rising 7th grader, have greatly benefited from the somewhat slower pace. They have felt *on top of* their math courses.

I"m sure you'll find others whose experience has been otherwise, but I just wanted to share those thoughts.

Peace,
Nancy

I would never think of skipping PA. I just was not sure if there was a drastic difference at the beginning of PA I guess I didn't word that to well. We well she has struggled so much with certain concepts that I really want to make her feel confident in math before she enters high school math.

What did you use for math besides TT in grade 7? Is math u see a good course?

Claudia -

Other than TT, we've used Saxon, Alpha Omega, Calvert, and Math U See. I don't know anything about MUS; at the time we used it, I think the courses were set up differently or were in a different order than they are now.

Peace,
Nancy
