A Fight, A Struggle, A Sorrow written by Chelsea (age 9 and an American Girl enthusiast whose future plans are to travel and become an American Girl writer):
Chapter One:
Amber ran across the prairie. She heard the bell ring. She had been picking due berries and plums. When she was 1 mile away from Ma, she froze. What was it? A hat? She picked it up. Yes. It was a hat. And what a funny one it was!
She started exploding with laghter. "Oh! If Tom where here, he would act like a racoon!" She said.
But then she stoped laghing. Was it Patty, the dog's footprint? "I hope it is." said Amber. Wait! What was that sound? "Arrrrg!"
A bear. It was a bear! Amber froze. She hesitated, then...
"Zoooom!" she was off. She ran untill she saw Tom in Ma's place. What was he doing? Where was Ma? Tom looked like he had been crying. Silence filled the air. "Whats wrong? Wheres Ma? Is Pa here?" Amber exploded with quistens. "Amber, Ma is, is...Ma."
Tears splashed out of Tom's eyes. Amber waited patintly for him to use all his tears. When he stoped, he cantenued his explaining. "Ma's sick with..." He blinked to hold back tears. "Cholera."
He ran into Amber's arms. "No! No! No! She can't be! Where is she? Is a docter here?" She was horified. "It cant be true! It cant be!" She cried, holding Tom tightly.
"She won't die! I won't let her die! I won't!" she cried until Pa came.
Chapter Two:
Pa strugelled to do all Ma's chores. First Amber helped, then Tom prayed by Ma, hoping God would help. But 3 days had passed and God seemed to be trying his best. She was geting weaker. One day, she was so weak, she couldn't move.
"When will Ma be better?" Tom seemed to be in the questioning mood. Pa seemed to be put up with that aversion. "Soon, Tom." Pa smashed a potatoe.
"Pa! Pa!" Amber flew into the room. "Her, um, Ma's lips are chaped! She groans every time I put the towel on her face! Her, I mean, shes worse then ever!"
She was so worryed. What would happen? Would she...NO!

That's where my little authoress left me hanging. Do I? Or don't I? The suspense is killing me. Was there a miracle cure out there on the prairie for cholera? I mentioned to my little writer that I sure hope an Indian medicine man comes along.

I forgot all about this, Molly.
She did complete it. A novel in three chapters.
The mother dies. 
I'll have to dig around in three different paper piles to find the last chapter. If I find it, I'll post.
Thanks for asking.
Chelsea's future plans are to become a travel writer and an American Girls author.
