Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Thanks for the help.

Marcie -

I haven't personally tried to use ILL without first using PLL, but I don't think it would be a problem. The lessons are very gentle and don't seem to assume loads of prior knowledge beyond what a child of a certain age (4th or 5th grade) would know. Since the lessons are not full of instructions and twaddle, they leave you with plenty of "space" to give your child whatever background would be required to complete the lessons.

HTH,
Nancy

I have both books, I'll have to admit that we only use them spasmodically. This year I've started using ILL with my older two and really they have only done several lessons from PLL. It hasn't created any problems for them.

I love Emma Serl's books, don't think that the reason we have used them infrequently has anything to do with the books, it's to do with us

They have nothing to do with each other. You could jump right in to either.

Marcie,

My one ds began with ILL in 4th grade never having used PLL, so no, PLL is not an absolute requirement. Ds had no trouble by the way and did very well with ILL. I hope you enjoy it!
