Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My daughter is 8 and a voracious reader. I have a hard time finding enough books for her to read that are appropriate!

Here are some recent books that she enjoyed:
Tuesdays at the Castle
Recipe for Adventure

What are your elementary kids reading for fun?

My animal lover is devouring the "...According to Humphrey" series by Betty Birney This is the first one.

She really wants a hamster now!

If she hasn't read the series yet, I recommend the Melendy Quartet which includes: The Saturdays, The Four-Story Mistake, Then There Were Five, and Spiderweb for Two. The Moffats series by Eleanor Estes might also be enjoyed by your daughter. My girls also liked Estes' Ginger Pye and Pinky Pye. I have more recommendations, but they will have to wait. I need to make dinner and one of my sons has been asking to play a game with me.
