Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi ladies, I purchased the first 3 Worldly Wise, as they were recommended by Seton for 3rd grade. But, they look too easy for my DD. Any suggestions of a fun on-line program my kids could use independently. I am having a baby in Oct., by C-section, and am trying to come up with some educational and "fun" activities on the computer. I feel like we have too many workbooks right now.
Thanks

I am really surprised that Wordly Wise A, B, and C were recommended for 3rd Grade Vocabulary. But we've been using Wordly Wise 3000 where the levels correspond with grade level.

Now are you looking for grammar or vocabulary...since Wordly Wise is actually vocabulary.

For a non-workbook grammar for 3rd grade, you might consider Simply Grammar (adapted from Charlotte Mason). It's set up to either read one lesson per week together or have the child read the lesson and answer a few questions orally.

You might try using Spelling City. You can set up an account and save your own lists or use some of their pre-made lists. Your daughter could play a variety of games using the vocabulary list and then take a test on them.

Fun4theBrain has some English games that we haven't tried yet, but we've done the math games a lot.

I totally sympathize with your situation. My due date is two weeks before the start of our fall semester, and I've been trying to streamline things for my 4th and 1st graders, so that I can do as much "couch schooling" as possible.

I am not sure why I said "grammar"... I have Voyages for Grammar. I should have said "vocabulary". Barbara C.- Wordly Wise 3000 looks perfect- Thanks! They even have free on-line games! I can't seem to load the games right now, hopefully it is just my internet connection. I'll try again later and let you know what I think of the "free on-line" portion @ WordlyWise3000.com
Thanks again!

It's funny. We've only been using the Wordly Wise 3000 workbooks. I had no idea about the free online stuff available!!
