One of my favorite saints of all time is St. Josémaria Escrivá. Certain saints appeal to certain personality types and he is one whose writings really tug my heart. I am always reading The Way, Furrow or The Forge at some point or another.

Anyway, if you aren't familiar with them, his books are broken into tiny little segments that would make superb copywork sources! Since we are breaking down back to the basics next year, I really want to use Escrivá as our patron for the whole year since he is so big on discipline, courage, and habit formation.

Right now, we're doing "Saint of the Month" and he is our June. We have a framed picture we printed off of him from the internet, and some quotes surrounding it.

You can access all his books online for free here. These are some quotes to give you an idea of copywork chunks:


*Say what you have just said, but in a different tone, without anger, and your argument will gain in strength and, above all, you won't offend God.

*Do everything for Love. Thus there will be no little things: everything will be big. Perseverance in little things for Love is heroism.      

*Blaze a trail!

*If you remembered the presence of your own Angel and the angels of your neighbors, you would avoid many of the foolish things which slip into your conversations.

*Suffering overwhelms you because you take it like a coward. Meet it bravely, with a Christian spirit: and you will regard it as a treasure.
