Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all,

I was wondering if you all have any advice concerning either a vocabulary workbook that you recommend or vocabulary word lists for 4th and 6th grade. I have always used the Worldy Wise series with my kids, but frankly, none of them have enjoyed them, especially as they get older and they don't really seem to "work" per se. I was thinking just a good ole' word list, where they have to just look the words up in the dictionary and then memorize the definitions would be best. BUT, I don't have the time to come up with the lists on my own. I am not against a workbook as long as it is a "good one". Any suggestions?

I just ordered Latin/Greek vocab. pages over at Notebookingpages.com I think it was $2.50. I am planning on using English from the Roots up cards and having my kids use the pages instead of notecards. They are already color coded and when completed it will look nice in a 3-ring binder. :)

Kim are you using the older Worldly Wise, or the Wordly Wise 3000?    I'm not familiar with either of the books for the younger grades, but my dd has used the older WW books and just got the 3000 this year, and likes it much more.

We also have the Latin and Greek roots cards, but she hates using those.       I think they're great and hope to give them another try this year.
