Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

All my kids are little and (learning) computer games have been good rewards.

We have loved Classic Starfall and my littlest ones continue to use it although my 6yo is 'done' with all the levels; my 7yo is still working on it.

I've been thinking about signing up for More Starfall.. Anyone done this - is it worth the $35?

I ran across this this on-line resource for emergent readers:
Roy the Singing Zebra Anyone heard of or used this? It looks pretty cool...but you have to download the long-vowel phonemes for $. Still, most of it is free...

We were given a copy of "Reader Rabbit" Pre-school that we played this summer. In general, if you've tried other Reader Rabbit" software, do your kids like them?

We also got a few "JumpStart" CDs and I didn't like them from the main screen, so we passed those on.

I'm generally annoyed with pbskids because 1) I don't like some of the pbs shows and 2) they end up playing the movies (i.e. watching TV) instead of the learning games.

Kids haven't been too impressed with Owl & Mouse software.

Other ideas?

I think that the More-Starfall looks to be good value for money for kindergarten level students. It appears to be filling in the gaps for a kindergarten curriculum(more subjects and further reading practice) rather then being at a further level.

As I have no kindergarten level students this year, I bought a three-year membership for Mark Kistler's Online Art Lessons for 40$ through the Homeschool Co-op
Mark Kistler's Online Art lessons offer. They aren't exactly computer games but my children do enjoy them.

I'm fond of Edmark (Riverdeep) games for my   children see http://vanderhoof.bclibrary.ca/kids/edmark-house-series-lear ning-games for a selection of Edmark games for the younger set.

Thanks! The kids have been enjoying the Edmark House series and I love that they are available for free on-line.

Anyone else want to weigh in with a favorite?
