Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My DS5 is an excellent reader. I am not quite sure when or how (it CERTAINLY wasn't ME!), but I started to notice that he was reading over my shoulder, and telling me things about what he was reading. My emails weren't private anymore.

I want to keep his enthusiasm for reading, but he gets a little frustrated if it's "too much" reading. We are doing Seton Kindergarten right now, but I am wondering if I should try some readers, or just keep him reading whatever he can get his hands on. Should we just explore the library more, and go from there? Read a story, tell me about it? I do that with his Catechism lessons. He reads to me, and we talk about it.

How can I keep him going?

Yay for him!
Do you have Frog and Toad books? Are those too much for him? Little Bear was good too. Bobby is still just using the little Bob books for his reading.

Seconding Frog and Toad and Little Bear! BOB books are good. And, it isn't too expensive so I thought I'd suggest Catholic Heritage Curricula's Little Stories for Little Folks. How wonderful that he seems to enjoy reading so much, Fuzzy!

Here's a few series my son loved at that age...oh how I loved this stage.

Mr. Putter and Tabby series
Henry and Mudge series
Poppleton series
Little Critter (who is naughty, but I was OK with it because it was so over the top cute)
