Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've just been cutting and pasting Lord of the Rings songs for my son to be placed in a jar for copywork. I found this great site http://galaxy.uci.agh.edu.pl/~szymon/Tolkien/ where all the songs were written so I didn't have to do any typing.

My dd and another ds want Redwall songs to copy. Does anyone know of a site where I can find this. I haven't had any luck in my searching. I really don't want to have to type them myself if I can help it.

Hi Erin,

Thanks for that site - we are back into Tolkien at present - I bought at Angus & Robertson, a little book called, "Poems from The Lord of the Rings" and we are enjoying singing them!

I had made a tune for the "The Rhyme of the Troll" (this was 4am in the morning) and so I decided to tape it on my computer freecorder program so that I could remember how to sing it when the children woke up (my memory is SO bad) and the children have now learnt the tune and love to sing it.

When I read Tolkien's work to them, it always makes it SO much better to try and put a tune to the poem - you enter the world so much deeper that way - but it can be hard work trying to find a new tune as each poem rolls along. I think it would be great if you could buy a CD of the poems sung from LOTR.

So you are doing copywork with the poems? I was going to start that with Jack this week - I'll have to tell him your boys are too. Can you tell me a little bit more about your jar and how much of a poem you have them write a day?
