I bought Startwrite in September and I have not really used it as much as I should have. I am trying to figure out how to use it more in my plans for next year.
My little guy will be starting K work. I am trying to figure out how to do worksheets for him rather than buy a handwriting book.
Would you share your ideas please?

I have Startwrite, too. They have built-in worksheets of every font style, both uppercase and lowercase. You can print them off with or without directional arrows. Frankly, that is what you would get with a workbook. Once his handwriting is down, have him narrate stories to you. Enter them into Startwrite, print them out and have him trace or copy, and then illustrate.
It has worked wonders with my kids!

I type up the poem they are memorizing. One line for tracing. A blank line for writing on their own.
Names of things we find on nature walks.
Every friday, they get the psalm refrain (or part of) for that Sunday's reading.
A page in a picture book we're reading.
Sight words.
Repeat letters that they are having a hard time with.

I go to File and then Open Lesson, but give me a few minutes. I think I had to download something else.

It looks like the Lessons are on the CD version of the program. I downloaded them separately to my hard drive.

 Yep.....hanging in there! I'm starting to have contractions on a somewhat regular basis.....so maybe soon???? But....then again....maybe not

I did not have Startwrite until this year, and all my school age children already know how to print. But I just typed in daily copywork of short selections from a favorite book and printed them out with extra lines below for copying.
For the longest time, I was rather foolishly typing two different selections for my 2nd grader, who prints, and my 4th grader, who write in cursive. Then all of a sudden it hit me that I should only be typing once and simply printing one copy in manuscript and another in cursive. Sometimes I am amazed at how I can miss the obvious! 
I do have a rising kindergartener, though, and am glad to learn of the worksheets because I had no idea they were part of the program.
