Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here is JBug's narration of the movie "Miss Potter." Please keep in mind that she saw this about 2 weeks ago. Still, I find it fascinating the things that caught her attention.
Here it is, word for word as she tells it:

Beatrix went to an office with a guy and another guy. They were all finished but she left her notebook and Peter. And she went in the car but 2 men were outside. She said “Can you go faster?” But her grandma said no, but Beatrix said, “Faster if you can!”
She went home but her mother said “What took you so long?”
“Well I was with my friends,” and she went upstairs.
Her mother said “You don’t have any friends”.
But Beatrix said “Yes I do. Every time I draw”
Then the guy, Norman, went into the house. He said his brother said they want to give me your painting and drawing book. They ask him for tea but he said “Juice, please”. He was going to leave now, because she made a good friend. They went to a store but it was closed, but they saw “Potters Books.” They were brown.
She went home then they went to Norman's house. She saw his sister and his mother. They had a little tea time. She came home and she was painting, it was going to be her Christmas present. She asked him to come over to have Christmas dinner. He said yes.
She was painting, but her mother came up the stairs. She said, “Your father is here”. She put the paintbrush down, went really as fast as she can. She said, “how your work goes?", He said “really, really difficult”. She went back upstairs and she was so happy cause her friends were coming over.
Beatrix was going to show Norman his Christmas present and she did. He was going to show her how to dance. But he said he really wants her to marry him but her mom came upstairs and she said, “I was showing him his Christmas present”. But the Mom waked up her Grandma, kicked the chair. They went downstairs.
There was a meeting, talking, and she told about the rabbit next to the fire. Everyone was clapping, but they all started to leave. It was snowing. He gave her a ring.
It was really time to go and he said "thank you" and went back. They went to a lake house. She was writing a letter and reading all that he sent for her. But he was ill. When she got there late, he was dead. She cried and cried. She saw somebody else putting up a sign and she met him. They went to a game with fifty cent numbers. And she winned! He brought her to a farm and they walked on the mountain and she married him. That’s the end.

Neat, Theresa! I like that she remembered, "Juice please."

So, JBug watched this and liked it, I assume, since she had so much to say about it!
Did she watch the whole thing at once or did you break it up? Was she riveted or just somewhat interested?

Basically, I want the details. I've been wondering if the girls would like it at a young age (6.5, 5, 5, 3.5) but they haven't watched many movies and I don't know if they'd get it. If they did like it, I think it would certainly add to when we read her books, etc. So, I guess I have nothing to lose, right. If they're bored....turn it off!

That's a great narration, Theresa.

I adore that movie. We've been on a Beatrix Potter rabbit trail since the day we saw it.

Suzanne, we watched the movie as a family and when it was over, my 9 year old dd said, "That's all?" She wanted more.

I like it A very succint narration about her life... isn't it funny what things kids think to include in the narration though?

Suzanne, she really did enjoy it. There wer parts she didn't quite understand, (obviously) but it was entertaining enough that she asked to watch it again the next day and enjoyed it again. In fact when my 17 yo daughter expressed that she might not be interested in watching it JBug convinced her by saying, "It has a little bit of love in it. You love love!"
Antway, the best part is that it inspired her to want to "go out and paint animals, just like Beatrix," which in turn spurred me to put together our Beatrix Potter mini-unit. And we are having so much fun!
