Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

On the older cover of Phonics Pathways (8th edition) it states "perfect spelling". For those of you who have used it, have you found you needed a spelling program after completion?

My son is dyslexic, and this book is working amazingly well for him! We haven't yet completed the book, but I can tell you that he can spell every single word that he can read. When we are finished PP, we will move right into formal dictation (which we are already doing informally), and skipping a spelling program altogether

That is what I am finding with my son and daughter who I started this with. I am adding my older two children (although they know how to read) for the spelling benefit.

I am amazed with my son who has struggled with reading before starting this program. I am doing dictation with him with each day after he completes however many lessons he is comfortable with. He has gone from a non reader to one who reads and spells everything I am giving him. Wow! Phonics Pathways makes sense to me, apparently to him too. My other dd is spelling equally as well.

After experiencing their success, I am back tracking with my older kids and see if it will help. They did not learn to read this way so I do not know if we will have sucess there.

I can clearly see the connection with learning how to read like this with spelling. Thanks for sharing.

Linda
