Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm still full-throttle researching our upcoming trip to Washington D.C. and stumbled across what appears to be a neat resource for teaching Shakespeare. Folger Shakespeare Library

Anyone used any of these lesson plans? Any other suggestions? I'm pretty much ignorant of Shakespeare, but I'd love to dig into it with my son.

Oh this is SO timely! I am planning on incorporating some of Shakespeares works during tea time and lunch time read-alouds this year and these sites and unit are just the ticket to get me going in the right direction! I just love this list thanks again

GREAT sites, ladies, thank you! :)

I bought a book this year from Rainbow Resource called, The Complete Guide to Shakespeare's Best Plays by Walch.

You can see it here:

Shakespeare

You can see it here, AND download sample pages of it!

Walch Shakespeare book

It is designed more for a classroom type of guide, or a co-op, but it's very helpful for homeschoolers as well. I like that it explains each Act and what's happening to you. That's something I REALLY need!

I noticed that they also sell this one, that you can also see a sample of. It looks fun, and funny, something my kids would love!

Shakespeare Made Easy

Thanks for the free online resources! I'm sure they'll be very helpful as well!

We used the Walch book extensively for our Shakespeare Year(e) and it was very helpful.

Re: the Folger. I lived a few blocks from the Folger Library for many years---it is a jewel! If you are traipsing around Capitol Hill, you should segue over to the Folger (on East Capitol, I believe, a block or so from the Supreme Court) and check out their folio exhibit in the Great Hall, their gorgeous mini-Globe theatre, and the gift shop. Even the carvings over the doorways are neat! When I lived there, we used to go over and get standing room seats, dirt cheap, to performances---and what performances!---but I think they've moved the Folger Shakespeare Company out of the city now, so to see a show, you have to go to the Burbs...but you should check into it. If you are studying Shakespeare, nothing beats an evening with the Bard, up close and personal! And those guys know how to do it right.

Thanks for the link---great stuff.
