Here are my plans, please tell me if I'm on the right track to understanding the meaning and purpose of copywork. What's best for a 9 and 8 year old, copywork or dictation? I'd love input.

9 yod - Copywork M, T, Th - I will provide her with a printed famous quote, bible verse, CCC tidbit, seasonal poem. Alternating weeks she will write the copywork piece in cursive and then type it and save to a CD. Each week will be a new example of copywork.

8 yos - Copywork M, T, Th - Same as for daughter, but he will print his until about January when I will begin teaching him cursive. He will not be using the computer to type until next year.

5 yod - Copywork using www.handwritingworksheets.com. I love this website. I can choose block lettering or Denelian and then make my own worksheets. The words are printed in dashed lines, making it easy for little ones to start learning to write their full name and address. After that I begin with short sentences and favorites such as color, animal, food, song, game, friends, etc.

Does this sound about right? Is it too remedial for my older daughter? Should dictation be added sometime? When? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
