Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Science Smart: Cool Projects for Exploring the Marvels of the Planet Earthis one of those books that I love to have on my shelf for when the kids say -- I'm bored or "there's nothing to do" or just for a fun, unschooly science day. This book (which is actually 4 books put together -- including one MaryM had mentioned on the Journey North post called "Geography Crafts for Kids") is packed with really cool, interesting projects that all help teach about Planet Earth. Many of these projects are unique and include edibles, combustibles (cool volcano) and navigable tools.... really fun stuff.

Searching on Amazon also pulled up another one similar called Nature Smart: Awesome Projects to Make with Mother Nature's Help.

These are the kinds of books I would have rebound with a spiral as I think they'll get LOTS of use around here!

We have that book! You are right, Mary, it is packed with fun stuff. I would recommend it especially for the 8-12 set, younger with help.
