Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We found some very tiny eggs on the leaf of a day lily. I will try my best to describe what it looks like and maybe someone could tell me what put the eggs there.
I have seen this before but, for the life of me, I can't remember if it's a spider or a butterfly. O.K....here goes my description.   They are attached away from the leaf on tiny hair-like attachments. A single egg is on each hair-like attachment. I took pictures, but they are a bit blurry. We are going to keep a close on and see what might emerge from them.
I remember seeing that it keeps ants from eating the eggs because they are not even aware the eggs are close by.
Thanks............

Well, they don't sound like any spider eggs I know of.
What color are they?
Shiney or dull?
Opaque or translucent?
Hanging or erect?
Are the hairs stiff and stalk-like or soft and string-like?

Let me see if I can explain this.............The small hairlike structures extend outward from the leaf of the daylily. At the end of each hair is a very tiny white single egg or whatever it is. There are 8 extensions.
I can remember seeing this type of structure on one of the nature shows, but I can't remember which one.
I have checked all of the other daylilies and there is no other thing like this on them...........it's very puzzling. I have tried calling our Nature Station but I believe thay must be really busy today.

O.K.........I think I have solved the mystery! I called our state arboretum and I was told that It is a wasp egg. It's a wasp that eats aphids and white flies, so it is good to have around. The eggs are laid on these hairlike structures so that ants cannot eat them.
Thanks for the help!!
