Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

With my oldest two we used textbooks for science and history. Now that I am using a more CM approach (or trying to anyway ) I am struggling with putting together a science program for 8th/9th grade.

I was going to use Apologia Biology but after reading a thread in this forum, I am thinking about NOT using it. (I have not yet purchased it but was on the web today looking at it.)

How do you put together a list of topics to cover if you don't use a *textbook*? Do you have some type of guide or do you just follow their interests? What will you put on the "transcripts" for college?

Do you use the scope and sequence from a particular textbook to give an idea and then find "living" books for those topics?

Any help, insight, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
Krisann
