Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Thanks Maria! We'll look for it. We watched March of the Penguins last summer at the drive in (the second feature of a double), and most of the kids thought it was boring, and all of the adults thought it was fascinating!

That was similar to what happened here...however, with the show about diving under Antarctic Ice, my children were fascinated. Of course, it didn't hurt that I was there explaining things they missed...and bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm. I honestly can't imagine what it would be like to scuba dive under that continent. That's an extreme sport, to me. But I will definitely sit on my couch with a cup of tea and enjoy the fruit...should I say popsicle...of Wu's labor and endeavor.

Speaking of Endeavor, I love the dvd on Shackleton on that one too. I'll see if I can't find it to link later.

My IRL best friend's husband was a diver at McMurdo for a few years and has the best stories and pictures to share. What boggles my mind is that the water is very, very warm there as the ice acts like a greenhouse kinda. I would never have thought of that!

I have to say I have never been able to stay awake through March of the Penguins - his voice!
Let's have a little enthusiasm here!

Jennifer, that is too, too cool.

Any short enough to share?

Tracy
This is really interesting to know. My sister rang me up raving about the movie, wanting me to take the children. I certainly won't now.
