Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can somebody please share how they explained the information on the geocentric issue with the Catholic Church and Galileo to their children? It's my understanding that the information in Apologia's General Science book (Module 1) is not correct, but I am not educated enough in this area to know the answer, and online searches are confusing. Thanks.

I haven't seen Apologia's General Science book so don't know how it is presented - but obviously would not be surprising for it to be inaccurate.

That is a topic that almost always would need to be corrected/presented with Catholic side to supplement most textbooks. So, the resource I think that is really helpful for that is Mary Daly's book Copernicus, Galileo, and the Catholic Sponsorship of Science

The Catholic Answers website has an informational article here. I printed this out and had my 7th grade daughter read it when we got to the Galileo part of Apologia General Science.
