Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello all, I feel like I could be doing so much more with science in our house. I do like it, but I find I easily push it aside to get more math or Language Arts done. (tsk tsk for me).

Anyhow I just feel like this year I've let the overall balance of subjects tip too much one way. I'm sure that is why my children have been needing a break too.

So I'm going to read through some of these science topics to see what I can use.

Any other hints or tips are welcome.

With summer.. well supposedly here (we don't have it here yet).. this could be a good time to get out of the house and do nature study and botany and go on hikes and camping (if you camp) and things like that.. getting out of the house will help as much as focusing on a different subject.

Nature study is such an easy way to ease into science! Summer is a great time to focus on that. If you add nature journals to your nature outings, you can easily incorporate copywork and art too and in that way let the science "drive" the "curriculum" for a while.
