Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Today we finished the lesson. It was short and sweet(McRuffy) and dd wanted more. I wasn't prepared to do the next one, need some soil for the next experiment. She was close to tears.

So, I pulled out one of my "Science-in-bag" kits. She loved it. It had LOTS of waiting time in it. Checking it every 15 minutes for an hour. So in between these time points, she completed her math, grammar, and reading lessons. It took minimal materials. I have another 10 ready for her :) I'm very happy with it. It's a nice addition to our program when she wants more. There is no real teaching in it, just a collection of simple experiments, so there is no worries about contradicting points of view.

I also use the same concepts for science for the older kids. I'm always 3 or 4 experiments ahead in prep. Non-perishables are kept in a ziplock with an index card of what it's for and what needs to be added. LOVE It!

Yes! We have used the science bags too. I arranged for a swap too. It worked great. I had enough ladies signup so that we used both of the activity books. We ended with upwards of 25 bag activities!
