Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Are you still out there???

Here is this week's Mystery Class data.

We'll add this week's calculations as they are reported. Caroline already gave me hers this morning.

Mystery Class #1: 11 hours 34 minutes
Mystery Class #2: 11 hours 56 minutes
Mystery Class #3: 14 hours 32 minutes
Mystery Class #4: 11 hours 49 minutes
Mystery Class #5: 12 hours 28 minutes
Mystery Class #6: 11 hours 41 minutes
Mystery Class #7: 12 hours 37 minutes
Mystery Class #8: 11 hours 30 minutes
Mystery Class #9: 12 hours 10 minutes
Mystery Class #10: 11 hours 36 minutes

Last week I asked if you all could start to post any guesses or estimates you had of the latitude of your locaiton. By this time you should have some general ideas (N or S hemisphere, relative distance from the equator). If you want to really work on it there are some ways to narrow it down and get pretty close to the actual latitude estimate, including eh online photoperiod calculator that was linked earlier where you can start plugging in guesses.

Also I want to point out that Journey North has started giving the sunset and sunrise times in Universal Time (UT) as well as local time this week. It is just to get us familiar with the what UT is - you don't officially do anything it until next week...but if you are anxious to move ahead and do understand UT relation to local then it is a great opportunity to narrow down the time zone your locaiton is in, But you won't be able to close in on the actual longitude until they give us the longitude clue/calculation next week.

Agh....we're still here though we really got behind for a week.    No worries though - we're caught up!

Mystery site #5 photoperiod for this week is 12 hrs 28 min.

Mystery site #4 is 11 hours, 49 minutes.
Sorry for the delay, but my ds (who really loves Journey North) is at the Grand Canyon now. So you are having to rely on me.

Well, that sure sounds like fun! What a great opportunity.

I just updated photoperiods for the remaining locations not reported. Will start the thread for this past Friday - now we have the longitude figures to estimate
