Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have to ask whether this is natural behavior? Do predatory pets know that prey pets are pets and thus they don't attack them?

This particular cat is slightly in awe of our rabbit as well.

When we had cats and hamsters, we found that a playful cat can be a bit hard on the nerves of a hamster in a hamster ball.

On the other hand a lazy cat napping on the hamster cage found out that some hamsters aren't above giving a nip to the tip of a cat tail dangling into their cage.

I expect it depends on the cat and how much it enjoys play stalking and pouncing.   I don't think you can really trust a playful cat not to stalk and pounce on a much smaller pet simply for the fun of it-they stalk and pounce on each other after all.

[Rabbits on the other hand are dangerous beasts from a cat POV - even small rabbits; those hind legs are capable of doing serious damage to something cat sized -being wary simply shows *very* good sense]

Our cat will lay down with our guinea pig too! We are always there to watch though because I don't want to take any chances.
