Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...my children went swimming today in our little community lake - we are in the most Northern part of NJ - it's April - this goes against every mothering instinct in me.

Swimming? In the Lake? In April? Unheard of...absurd.

But rather than pretend that they would just go in up to their knees in their shorts like I usually do when the weather gets starts getting warm - only to take four very soggy children home - I made my life easier and let them put on their suits.

When they were done swimming, they caught frogs, tadpoles, newts, a snake, little fish...and more. Are you having any outdoor adventures?

Theresa,

We camped there a few years ago. It was so fun! Did you see any dolphins? They were coming almost to shore over by the musuem.

We went on a great nature walk with a wonderful naturalist. We saw many birds, wild flowers, crayfish, salamanders, tadpoles, etc. All of the kids ended up in the creek and I had to take the "very soggy" children home in a very wet condition. But they were so happy! I can't believe this is April weather either.

We've been at the pond a lot the past week, and today we ventured up north to   Washington's Tulip Festival!! So beautiful!

We discovered a great wetland area where there are tons of tree frogs and salamanders....now we can't wait for it to rain
