Hi Moms~

About 10 years ago when my husband and I were in college, my dh took a documentary class and as shown a brilliant documentary about insects/bugs, but he cannot remember the name.

He said it was about the time "A Bugs Life" came out...and that this was the "real" version of "A Bugs Life."

Anyone know about this?

AHA!!!

We found it!!

It is called "Metamorphosis". We just got it from Netflix. It is SUPERB!!! Our 4yo just LOVES it...and my husband and I are transfixed by this. The cinematography is outstandingly brilliant.

If you are studying critters, this is a must see. It is a documentary that is the real version of "A Bugs Life"...there are cameras inside ant nests, butterflies coming out of cocoons, insects "cleaning" themselves"...and pushing rocks...and storing food...a thunderstorm from a bug's perspective...and yes, there is insect mating...which we didn't say anything about to our dd...and our 4yo said, "Look! The insects cuddle!" Older kids might have more questions, just as an FYI.

But it is a TRULY amazing film!!!

I am soooo very sorry for posting the wrong title of the documentary!!! I hope I don't mess with anyone's que!

The title of the documentary is "Microcosmos".

I had metamorphosis on the brain after watching microcosmos...for good reason!!
