If you have studied the human body and have some favorite books, DVD's, games, etc., please post about them.
Thanks!

Tracey,
We absolutely loved The Body Book and used it along with a unit study found at Mater Amabilis. We didn't do the whole unit study because we didn't care for all of the other books, but this one book made it so fun for my dc. It does require a lot of cutting so if your dc are young, that might be an issue.

We loved The Body Book too. I used it along with lots of "Let's Read and Find Out" science books from the library.

We are getting ready to start a human body unit next week! We will be using, you guessed it...the Body Book! It really is a gem.I've used it before for a wide range of ages. I'll be doing some beefing up for ds(13) and simplifying for dd(7)but it should work well for both of them. Plus we have a bunch of stuff for hands-on activities to go along with each system as we study it...blood typing, bone forensics, etc... Should be fun!

We are using the suggestions here. It has a complete curriculum with book suggestions, links to movies on United Streaming, link to printables, etc. It is a great resource!

Check out the science books on my friend's sidebar. I'm not sure which book but I know she used one of them yesterday to make edible DNA! Sounded so much fun.

We just started this one: My Body
You trace the child onto a big page (I taped together 2 posterboards), and they make all the internal parts and glue them on in the right places. What I like most is that it covers things that are not in most children's books, like kidneys & spleen. The girls are enjoying it, and constantly asking what part is coming next. I'm using it for a 3.5 & 6yo, but it could go up to about 4th grade.
There are some good (free) online movies here too: Kids Health

Dd1 is in 1st grade and really loved The Body Atlas that we checked out of the library. We just skipped over the more technical stuff and read about/looked at the basics. We checked more books out of the library too of course, but that was her favorite and she checked it out a few times to keep looking at it.

I know this is an old post, but figured I'd add a few links in case anyone searches it later.
Wearable Human Body instructions
My Body Lapbook (free) This is probably good for preschool and early elementary.
