I wish I were more adept with my digital camera, 
I would show you the picture of the huge fungus growing out of a dead tree on the ground. It was amazing. It reminded my kids and I of a blazing sun rise. It was orange, yellow and red and grew out of the tree in sort of a semi-circle. The edges were fringed. Anyway, we took lots of pictures and made drawings of the various mushrooms we saw for our nature notebooks, but we really have no clue what the names for them are. I just wonder if there is actually a guide for fungus out there. It seems there is one for just about everything else! (We're sort of "guide collectors" around here!)
...I have used it to identify most of the common fungus around here. It is very easy to use. I usually use Peterson guides for everything, but I was impressed that the guide was good enough for a mushroom hunter (and eater) to rely upon without risking his life.
