Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We live beside a pond, and yesterday we spotted this huge turtle across the street. So, of course we had to get a closer look.

We tried to google to figure it out, but there were just way too many different kinds of turtles.

Thanks!

Is he a snapper? He didn't try to bite, but he was definitely not afraid of us. I've never seen a snapping turtle that was that big!

This is so funny...(we are also in NH)
The children and I saw the same "HUGE" turtle on the side of the road this AM... we pulled over and watched it for about 10 minutes...I always (well mostly) grab my camera but this AM I had forgotten it).
it was dug into a bit of a hole just on the side of the road...
we watched from the car as I have heard about these guys going for you if you get to close!

Last year around this time I saw a huge, mega-ugly snapper crossing the road. It had traffic backed up both ways on the 2-way street. A landscaper got out of his truck to try and urge it along and I could hear its beak snap shut when it went after the poor guy. It was really scary! The turtle looked like a dinosaur or something. As I said, truly mega-ugly!

Peace,
Nancy
