Is there a curriculum out there that is science based? Like how Sonlight is history based? One of my twins is very into science, and he would love it if school only consisted of math and science. He loves experiments and just everything to do with science.
I've seen Winter Promise has 2 sciencey cores, but neither would work for me right now. Does anyone know of anything else? I'd rather not have to put something together myself at the moment.

You know, that is an excellent question. So many hs curricula are history or literature based. Why not science based? And yet, I don't think I have seen one.
Anybody?

The Konos Curriculum is science and history based. You can, however, just do the science units which are very well done and contain a lot of hands-on activities. One volume contains enough material for two years of study and is written for K-8. Karen

I trying to organize plans for the same reason.
I would love something already put together!
A few years ago, I had a link for lessons to go along with the Let's Read and Find Out series, which I've seem to have lost.
I'm still in the process of finding out which of the books in the series my library has. I plan to work on one book a week.

After scouring the internet today, I'm thinking I'll just have to put something together myself! I just can't believe there isn't a science based curriculum already out there.

Have you seen Real Science 4 Kids? They have a program that is coming out soon called Kogs 4 Kids which looks like they will be adding Language, History, Art, Technology and tying it into science. There are some samples available.

I think I may have found something. I have never seen or heard of it before, but it looks interesting, and very science oriented.

I have wondered the same thing, about a science-centered curriculum. I know that is exactly what my ds would thrive with. I wish I had the skills to pull it together myself....from previous experience, I know I don't...I need at least a loose outline that I can play with.
I was going to say that WP bills their Sea & Sky as a science based one, but you already mentioned that that wouldn't really work for you.
Moving Beyond the Page really does look interesting....

Wow...Moving Beyond the Page looks awesome! I think it would work out perfect for Riley. I'm even debating getting the 8-10 level for dd.

Just wondering how you found Moving Beyond the Page Emily?
As discussed there is much that is history based but I'm thinking my dc need a break from that approach and I remembered this conversation.

We love our SL3 history this year but Moving Beyond the Page does look great. My ds would LOVE this. And if I don't have to plan it out myself...oh, joy, joy....

We have done Journey North and added in the extra activites and related novels..and the Tomatosphere project and ,again, added in some of the extra suggested activities and novels..so, not a planned curriculum but a Science related project and then extending it to include other curriculum areas. Just one idea!
