We're going to do a study of birds this summer. Does anyone know where I can get flashcards? also, I'm looking for a website that might have the birds songs. I live in N. FL if that helps. Thanks a lot for any info.

We are doing a bird study too.

On this page if you look under birds, there are cards for the parts of a bird, I printed these off and laminated them to use.

HERE

Here is a great post by Dawn that I loved!

Dawn's blog entry - focus on the feeder

Fabulous coloring pages for different birds.

Our bird watching center at our house, the kids have LOVED doing this and learned the names of so many birds this way! I change out the chart every few months with new birds listed on it for them to find.

Hope this helps! We have loved learning about the birds in our backyard!! :)

This website is a wonderful resource for bird sounds/identification. Just use the dropdown box to choose the species you are looking for (i.e. black capped chickadee, etc) and you can click on the link to hear how it sounds, see what it looks like, etc.

Hope that helps!

Ok, sorry about that, not sure what happened!

Try this link, and then look under the heading for birds!

We plan on using this book as our guide. The websites you all have referenced look great too!!!

Oh and as far as flashcards go, I have found some, that are very similar to what I have seen in some Montessori catalogs, at Office Depot and Staples in the teacher's section.
