Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are thinking of taking a camping trip to the blue ridge mountains in the next month. We camp in our pop up camper so I'd prefer someplace with hook ups. If the best place is at the National Park (Big Meadows?) thats ok -we do have a battery for power.
Here's the thing- we will mostly flyfish so we would like streams/rivers near. But, I'd love to be able to take a couple days and go to DC. Is there somewhere that has the metro nearby? How about Mass?

Thanks!

We never camped at Big Meadows-well, because it was in our backyard but it is beautiful!
I am not sure about the streams and rivers in the area. You might be able to find some info on the park website.
DC will be about 3 hours drive and you can take the Metro from about a 2 hour drive in-Vienna,VA, I believe. We did that once and it was fun!!
Holy Infant Catholic Church in Elkton, VA and Shepard of the Hills Catholic Church in Quinque, VA are the closest churches I know of to the National Park. They are off of 33. Holy Infant will be closer. They have a website(the same priest serves both parishes so they are linked)--I don't know how to link yet, sorry. A little further is Our Lady of the Blue Ridge in Madison, off of 29. We attended St. Thomas Aquinas in Charlottesville, affiliated with University of Virginia, if you happen to be down that way in your travels. Large university parish run by the Dominicans. We really enjoyed our time there.
Enjoy. It is a beautiful area...
Anne(who is still homesick...)
