Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My night blooming cereus has 4 buds on it! Tonight 2 of them will open. I have been going outside every 15 minutes to take pictures. The last time I had a bud, I missed the whole thing. I am hoping the other 2 will open on the weekend so that we can have friends over to watch!

Oh, I am so excited for you! We have 3 buds right now but we are little while off from actual blooming. The last time I was able to see the blooms was when I was working and had to go in at 4 in the morning. I hope I can stay up late enough to see them this year.

Congrats again!

Oh, how thrilling!

I had a night blooming cereus in my greenhouse in cold country once upon a time. It finally got buds and I made my dh take me in to see it even though I was desperately ill at the time (with Lyme Disease). He was opposed to the idea and could have been right since I fell asleep on the plant table before it bloomed and missed the show and the next morning when I hobbled in it was faded and droopy and over.

Fast forward a few years and now we are in the FL Keys. Night blooming cereus is wild and huge down here clambering all through the trees and blooming it's little heart out for me!

Another great place to see it "wild" is on the drive up to the Punchbowl Cemetery on Oahu...

I didn't get to see the flowers open all the way last night, but, we have 2 more buds and I am hoping to be able to stay up for those.
We had too much going on today for me to stay up the whole night.
