Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am wondering if any of you have had any experience with Science and Living in God's World at any of the levels? I just ordered level 1A through OLVS, just to see what it's about. I find nothing wrong with it necessarily, except that it seems so watery. My son is just turned 3 and other than the actual writing of the words and letters in some of the activities, he could easily breeze through the entire book - indeed I think he knows at least half the information in there already. I was thinking perhaps we could use it as a spine for K level when he gets there, but my initial impression (that has lasted a few days now) suggests otherwise - that he will want more than this at that age. (I have CHC's Easy as 1,2,3 for a spine as well - I think we'll definitely stick with that, adding Montessori and experiments).

If any of you have experience with upper levels, could you give me an idea where it goes, how activities and teaching might develop, etc? At this point, I'm thinking he could use it to show his grandmother all the 'work' that he does (she's always buying him workbooks as her way of supporting our homeschooling - I give her credit for trying!).

For my little ones, I like the Let's Read and Find Out Series of books. They are nice informative picture books just right for a little story time on the couch. I got some from Rainbow Resources.
