Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My husband found this flower on a walk this morning. Does anyone know what it is? It is so beautiful.

Looks like a lady slipper. DO NOT MOVE THIS THING.

It's not easy to grow, and is a lovely wildflower...

Here's a link to various images of different lady's slipper flowers.

Beautiful! They grow in our local forests. We can call them "Our Lady's Slippers" .

Lucky you, that looks like the Lady's Slippers we have blooming in the beginning of June.
They are pretty fussy about where they grow so consider yourself lucky to have them, at least I do.

You know, if anything, I'd make sure to mark off the area so it doesn't get trampled. As someone else said, they are picky...and don't need to be disturbed...

I am so jealous! And I echo what others have said about being very picky where they grow. The nice thing is that now you know where it is, you can revisit it year after year!

Oh, Ruth! That is one of the loveliest flowers I have seen! Consider yourself blessed.

Peace,
Nancy
