Hi all, another prayer request for dh, I'm afraid.
He came home yesterday with a bit of pain in his left cheek. Now there's a painful rash there as well as on his earlobe, a bit on the back of his neck, his jaw and his neck.
I'm thinking it's shingles, but as I've never seen it I don't know for sure. He's at urgent care right now getting help because we couldn't get an appointment at his dr.
Sigh. It's just that his immune system is already so compromised with asthma, eczema, all the stress from work and lack of sleep, and I can't get him to slow down. He's been under so much stress for the past two years, between family problems (my in-laws) and work ....
We also MIGHT be expecting (3 weeks + if we are) so I'd really like for him to be able to enjoy this time along with an upcoming cross-country trip in April -- he hasn't taken a real vacation in ages. When we were in Italy in '03 he didn't have any fun as he was sick 75% of the time we were there, presumably b/c of all the stress at work before the trip (he was working nights, 12 hour days, etc.)
Sorry for the length of this post, I know I'm asking a lot and I probably don't have the right seeing how there is so much greater need and pain that others are going through... but it would really do my dh some good to get some relief, even just a bit. I'd appreciate any prayers that you can send his way.

Stef, definitely praying for your dh's health! When will you know for sure about the baby? That's wonderful too, and I'll be praying there, too!

Your dh is a beautiful example of the suffering servant and husband, father, and son. He is such a good man. I'm praying for relief and complete healing.
And to your other news...I'm about to blow up with excitement. I'll be looking forward to an official update!

Thank you, all. It is shingles, and he's been given medication for it. Right now we're a little concerned about little Yena (5) because her vaccines aren't up to date; she was neutropenic as a baby so we've been spacing out her immunizations.
I'll let you know about the other thing when we know for sure  -- give me about a week  ; we usually don't bother with tests because we've been teased about being like rabbits 
Your prayers help a lot, thank you. 
And as always, dh is in great spirits -- ack. He's even working a bit as I type this.

Stef, I am so sorry you and he have to suffer like this. You have our prayers. We are starting a novena to Saint Joseph tomorrow.....I will include him in the intentions.
In fact, I think I will post it on these boards, it is such a beautiful prayer.

Your dh is in our family's prayers. I'll especially ask my mom to pray for him. She was diagnosed with shingles about a month ago and has been pretty bad off...she is a powerful prayer warrior, though...And hugs and prayers that you can share some wonderful baby news soon!

I just realized I never closed up this topic with a final update. My dh recovered completely from shingles -- very quickly, in fact -- and has no pain in that area at all. Thank you again for your prayers!
