My sister just called and told me my mother had been demoted at work today, to a position she'd held 8 years ago. My mother is distraught, of course, but this is just the latest in what has really been a terrible job for a long time. She works 80-100 hour weeks, is always stressed out, depressed, has health problems... she has also fallen away from the Church in the last ten years.

My sisters and father and I have become very frustrated over the years, trying to talk with her about this job and the destruction it's been wreaking in her life. What I have finally realized is that change is not going to come from us. Could you please pray that a new opportunity will become clear to her soon, and that she will be brave enough to recognize it and follow God's leading?
