Since bringing our daughter home from China in October we haven't slept all night at all. She cries during the night sometimes every hour! She's not even awake when she cries. She goes to sleep so easily.
We've tried everything we can think of to no avail. During the day she seems so happy and like any other 22 month old child. I'm sure it's all adjustment but we're very tired and could use your prayers. Any advice would be wonderful too!
Thanks!

I have to pull a late nighter to get the laundry done. I'll be praying for you, Lisa.

Praying. That's so hard.
Do you think its food related? Maybe separation anxiety? Would she sleep better next to you (if she's not already?) Or if she is next to you maybe she needs space? Just trying to think of reasons to help.
You say she's not even awake, like she wimpering in her sleep? My 17 mo. old is a frequent night waker and sometimes he just rolls all over the bed and twitches all night long. I've often wondered if its teething, growing pains, or upset stomach from something not agreeing with him.
At desperate moments such as these my husband (who is also an FP) gives our kids a little motrin for several nights to see if that helps and thus would mean some sort of pain (growing, teething, etc.).
We also have to run a fan outside our door so ds 17mo. won't hear ANY noise.
Is she warm enough? Too warm?
Hopefully she will just outgrow it soon.

Dear Lisa,
Maybe we could "speak" by email or PM?
Are you slinging your daughter during the day?
I'll pray for you.

Sarah's made some good suggestions, I think. It could very well be food related. Maybe try taking dairy out of her diet for two days and see if there's a change? I mention dairy first as it's often a culprit and is easy to test.
I'll be praying for you!

Lisa -
Praying the sleeping improves soon and that your energy holds out until it does.
Peace,

Sympathizing and praying for you.
Jack has been up every few hours for weeks and I am exhausted as well. It may be dairy as we started adding milk to his diet after he turned one.
While I am up with Jack, I will keep you in my prayers.
Blessings,
Krisann

Helen, I was hoping you would see this as I know you have experience with adoption. I'm PMing you right now.

I am just seeing this Lisa - You've had lots of great suggestions. I am praying that she continues to sleep well at night. What a blessing.

Okay, so we will rejoice over the ONE night and continue to pray! At least I'm still laughing. Maybe I'm just slap-happy from lack of sleep!
