Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's official, we have left our sweet Anglican parish of 12 years.    I couldn't even concentrate on our studies today. I think I'm feeling fear and doubt as I consider how easy it would be to stay where things are familiar.   I know leaving is the right thing to do but my heart is just so heavy with grief. I'm know in my mind that the Lord has better things for us but it's hard to feel it in my heart right now. Fortunately, my wonderful Dh is solid as a rock about our decision. He keeps me focused on why we're doing this. Thanks for praying.

It's perfectly understandable to have those feelings.
You were with your parish 12 years!! That's a lot of memories & experiences.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers, Martha.

Martha, you are in our prayers and believe me when I tell you, I know EXACTLY how you feel. Great blessings always follow the way of the cross.

Our parish priest is a former Anglican priest. He and another Anglican priest converted to Catholicism (with half of thier parish) over the controversy of female ordination. We are so thankful for him and are so thankful for his sacrifices.

Hang in there.

Martha

Praying for you. Very close friends of mine with their ten children are joining the Catholic church this weekend after being very committed Anglicans all their lives. Just deal with one issue at a time. It is hard to leave the familiar but know that Our Lord is carrying you.

I needed to hear that. Thank for the encouragement.

I'm praying for you, Martha. It's so hard to leave our comfort zone, even when you know you're doing the right thing. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton comes to mind as leaving the Episcopalian church. You might find comfort in reading a biography or her writings, as it was VERY hard for her to do, and she was shunned by her close friends after her conversion.
