On Sunday, I wrote, on my blog, about a prayer request that I had received from a friend. On Thursday, I received the following request from another friend, regarding the same person for whom I was initially asked to pray:
"Hello Friends,
I've never posted before, but have been a member for a long time. I attend St. George Byzantine Catholic Church in Olympia, WA. I need you to pray for a mother of our parish. We are storming heaven for her.
She is the mother of 14 children and homeschools them.
She was rushed to the ER last Thurs. and operated on for an intestinal blockage. She has ovarian Cancer which had reached her intenstines. They did a bypass but could not get all of the cancer. This is a miracle situation and I am praying to Metropolitain Shepetsky for his intercession.
PLEASE, PLEASE pray for Lori.
Her family needs her so much.
Most of her children are special needs children (some have Down Syndrome) - who are adopted. They are not well off at all - so we are starting a collection for them at our Church and homeschool groups.
All she has asked for is food for the kids, and prayers.
Her husband has aged 10 years this week."
Please pray for a miracle for Lori and please pray that her family gets the support they need.

Thank you for the prayers. Lori has stage 4 ovarian cancer. She will be starting chemotherapy soon, but barring a miracle it will be palliative care. I am praying for a miracle for Lori and her family. I believe all things are possible with God.
If any of you have children at Christendom College, they may know one of Lori's sons, as he is a student at the college. I do not know how much he knows, but I am hoping that the college community is praying for Lori and her family.
Please, please continue to pray for Lori in the months ahead.

I am just seeing this. Is there an address (perhaps their parish?) where we can send a check or gift card? We are praying for Lori and asking for a miracle and for comfort for her husband and children.

I'll be praying for Lori. Do you know if someone will be able to create a Care Page for her? I wish I could help in a more concrete way...

Praying for this dear mother.
My mother died from Ovarian Cancer. It is a sneaky sneaky disease that has no symptoms until it is too late.

I thought some of you might be interested in learning a little bit more about Lori. A local paper featured the following story, Faith and Family about Lori and her family today. Please continue to pray for Lori.
