I just came back from our 8 week appointment which included a sono, and there was no heartbeat. We went to another facility with a stronger Doppler and equipment and that confirmed the diagnosis. As I'm not having cramping or bleeding, we are opting for the D&C ASAP, as it was recommended to us. It will probably be tomorrow or Wednesday.
I'm calm so far with all this...I had no physical warning. Before the sono I was praying for grace to be at peace if there was anything wrong with the baby, so my prayers have been answered in that regard. I know it will hit gradually, but right now I have logistics to figure out, so I need a clear head.

I'm so terribly sorry.
I've had to have D&C's with all my miscarriages and I totally understand what you mean about needing a clear head to make arrangements and be prepared ... Praying for you!

Dear Jenn - I'm so sorry to hear this news, knowing how excited you were for this baby. I've been through this experience several times and your cousin actually helped me (and my husband - long distance to TExas from the Arlington emergency room) tremendously through the process. It's never easy.
A very wise friend who's been through this more often than I gave me the sage advice of allowing myself time to grieve for this precious life that I so desparately wanted. Be easy on yourself - you'll get through the next few days, then everything will come to a standstill. I will pray for you that you have peace through this time. You are very blessed to be surrounded by so many family members.

Praying...I have had several friends go down this path, so I know from them just how difficult it is. You're right to focus on what needs to be done right now, but I will be praying for you for many days to come, that God may comfort you and your family as you come to terms with this loss.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I had a D&C with my first miscarriage, but didn't have time to adjust to it...they took me straight there from the dr.'s office. I'm so glad you've had time in between to adjust and prepare. You are certainly in my prayers, and be easy on yourself these next weeks and months. God bless you.
