Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

[From another thread]
Could I organize a novena of prayers for Nina? A sort of spiritual bouquet?

Those who would like to participate, let's pray first to St. Joseph and ask him to help us to remember to pray for Nina. (In praying to St. Joseph, I mean when I try to say a novena, knowing my weakness and difficulties in persevering, I ask for help to get started. When I am particularly serious about the need to do something, I turn to St. Joseph in whom St. Teresa of Avila had such great confidence. No long prayers needed, I was suggesting, because of the demands upon homeschooling mothers, to first ask St. Joseph:
"Please remind me to do this! Help me to persevere.")

Then let's turn to our guardian angels to help us to pray for Nina. Since our Lord has so greatly elevated the dignity of motherhood by His Incarnation, may we pray the Angelus for Nina's intentions?

The Angelus Prayers

Since this is a large message board with people all over, could we promise to pray an Angelus, either at 6 am, noon, or six p.m. for Nina.

If different people, in different places take an angelus, I think we could say an angelus an hour for Nina. Private Message me, post here, or email me if you would like to be part of the spiritual bouquet and tell me your time zone and which Angelus time you would like to pray. We could try (ask St. Joseph) for nine days in a row.

Could we include all the pregnant mothers? Have a running St. Gerard's List Novena? I have been wanting a list with everyone's names and due dates in one place so I can keep track of everyone and no one is forgotten. This would make me very happy!

I think most of the women who visit this message board are expecting, hoping to expect, want to expect, have just expected, expecting an adoption, expecting grand children etc... So could we pray for Nina in particular and all mothers in general?

Thank you for suggesting this, Helen! And thank you Nina for suggesting prayers for all expecting mothers. That's so thoughtful of you! I know I could use special prayers as we travel to China to bring our daughter home in 2 weeks! And I would be honored to pray for all of you!

We'll pray at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time.

If we began the novena on September 27th, then today, October 5th is the ninth day.

Thank you to all who prayed for Nina and for all mothers.

I am trying to keep the habit going as a perpetual novena for all the moms I know.   I had never been able to make a habit of saying the Angelus and now, I am actually remembering to do it.   Thanks for suggesting it, Helen.

Profound thanks to all who prayed and are continuing to. Our family labors under extreme weights....especially this very weak mother. I thank God every night for all of you and for His mercy in hearing your prayers.

I also am going to continue the Angelus because as I have been newly reflecting, it is the perfect prayer for pregnancy and motherhood.

Willa, I've also found this novena for Nina and mothers helpful for remembering the Angelus. I'm also going to try to continue it.

Somehow I missed this when it was first posted, sorry.

How beautiful, Helen. Interestingly, saying the Angelus at lunch time was one of the very first prayer "habits" I deliberately developed along with my children after first encountering the CCM board years ago based on someone's suggestion. How fitting that I add this specific intention to our Angelus. Thank you for the suggestion!

Love,
