There's been an alarming (no pun intended) increase in burglaries in my neighborhood in the last month.
And my dh is now out-of-town so much...
We've been sleeping with all outside lights on...but the latest robbery was a woman being robbed at gunpoint as she got out of her car on the driveway.
Would you offer a prayer for our safety? We live in a wonderful neighborhood but this is all so disturbing...
Thankfully, my dh will be home this pm...I can't wait for a good nap. Incidentally, he was home Saturday night to Sunday morning and about 5 houses away there was another break-in.

Thats so scary. We used to live in a very high crime area while my dh was in college. I never will forget looking out my window to see the SWAT team surrounding the house across the street. That was the day we put our house on the market!!

So scary...
Since I have a lot of faith in the prayers offered from this group of prayer warriors, I'm tempted to say 'Be not Afraid', but I'd be too scared to sleep myself. 
We will be praying for your safety, Maria, and trusting that the crime will in your neighborhood will cease.

I have a dear friend that used to keep a scapular on the knob of her doors and she found it comforting when her dh couldn't be home with them. I usually ask St. Michael to be on guard so that I can rest. I ask Him to watch over everyone and everything so that I could do my daily duties to everyone and everything the next day. It is comforting to call on our Guardian Angels and the angels of our dc. I just fall asleep imagining them covering us all with their angelic wings of protection and then I realize our house really IS full!
We will keep you in our prayers!!

Maria,
I have always prayed to St. Joseph to protect our home - especially when I am anxiously awaiting my dh return from a business trip. I have tried to locate the prayer that I pray on these occasions (to no avail... I'll keep looking though, so I can post it and pray it for and with you!) In the text of the prayer you offer to St. Joseph the keys to your home and ask him to lock out of your home any evil or malice and lock into your home peace and love (it is actually worded more beautifully -oh man, do I ever paraphrase poorly!  )
I can only sleep in dh's absence when I have prayed that prayer. Good St. Joseph is such a POWERHOUSE of protection - go to him!
Will be praying for you, dear!

On the night's that dh is away from home, after triple checking all the locks on windows and doors: I pray that the house is covered with the blood of the Lamb. Like the Israelites in Egypt. I feel safe and protected then. Praying for you all. Lot pleasant at all.
Goodness Lisbet, I can imagine why you put the house on the market.
